The mission of the California Conference of Local Health Department
Nursing Directors (CCLHDND) is to provide leadership in the
planning, implementation and evaluation of Public Health programs
in the state; to articulate the role of Public Health Nursing
(PHN) in California; to act as a leadership organization for
public health nursing to facilitate changes in the delivery
of public health services; and to evaluate the impact of these
changes, and assure a professional and competent public health
nursing workforce in the State. |
Goals
The goals of CCLHDND are:
- To standardize and enhance the level of public health nursing
practice in California.
- To assure a professional and competent public health nursing
workforce in the state.
- To act as a leadership organization for public health nursing.
- To advocate for the needs of public health and public health
nursing.
- To collaborate with the State Department of Health Services
on matters relating to public health and public health nursing.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of public health nursing programs
in the state.
- To provide a mechanism for CCLHDND to articulate/communicate
with CCLHO.
- To share information, plan for and problem solve about improving
and increasing the effectiveness of community health nursing and
other health services.
- To facilitate and evaluate changes in the delivery of health
care services.
- To provide educational opportunities for the administrative
nurse.
To have a mechanism for Directors of Public Health Nursing in local
official health agencies to be represented and provide input on
health matters to the Department of Health Services, the legislature,
CCLHO affiliates, and other groups concerned with community health
and welfare issues.
